How to motivate yourself into being physically active

Amid the coronavirus, many people are spending more time at home than expected. To some, this has taken a toll on their physical health as they aren’t practicing a healthy lifestyle. For your well-being, some of the things to keep in mind are exercise, a healthy diet, quality sleep, and goal setting.

Taking Care of your Physical Health

Exercise

Regular exercise is imperative for your physical health. With people quarantined at home during the pandemic, they have become more distant from any physical activity. This resulted in many individuals gaining weight and damaging their health. Exercising daily for an average of 30 minutes can boost your mood, heighten your energy, and improve your memory. If

it’s difficult to exercise by yourself, have someone keep you accountable and have them join you.

Eat healthy food

A healthy diet is another pattern people have abandoned due to the pandemic. There has been an increasing number of people stress eating, with unprecedented restrictions and guidelines imposed. Because people are spending more time at home, they are more accessible to the snacks and food that tempt them. To embrace a healthy diet, opt for more nutritious meals. Prepping your meals beforehand gives you ample time to prepare and gain good eating habits.

Sleep

On average, you should get 7-9 hours of sleep every day. There are risks to your health if you receive too little or much sleep. For your body to recuperate and prepare for another day, it needs a sufficient amount of rest. To better maintain this routine, try to be physically active during the day so your body prepares for sleep at night. If you can’t wake up after 7-9 hours of sleep, put an alarm on that will hold you responsible.

Goal setting

If you feel unmotivated or bored, set a goal. It’s difficult to be productive while staying at home. People resort to watching tv, playing games, or on social media to replenish their boredom. However, you should try partaking in something more intentional by listing the goals you want to achieve during the pandemic. For example, read five books in a month, try a new hobby, exercise every day are some goals you can make.
