How to: Declutter Your Bedroom

Covered in today’s blog

Why is bedroom cleanliness essential?

How to keep your bedroom free of germs

The bedroom is where you start and end your day. In other words, this may be the area that needs the most cleaning and organizing. If your bedroom is too cluttered or full of germs, it may interfere with a good night’s sleep.

There are two parts to having your bedroom free of germs. First, declutter. Clean afterward. If you are unsure of where to begin, here is a helpful guide for you.

Declutter

Before you start cleaning furniture and wiping surfaces, pick up anything that does not belong in the room. Pick up clothes from floors, put trash in the garbage, and make your bed. It’s easier if you set aside things seemingly visible to the eye then tackling things harder to spot right away.

Organize

Next, organize anything that seems out of place. A good way of doing this is to buy plastic shelves or racks that can store items. It will be easier to organize your belongings this way as you will have a home for everything you use.

Wipe Surfaces

After you declutter and organize your bedroom, you can start wiping away. Use your disinfectant spray or wipe and clean surfaces of your desk, chair, vanity, mirror, and bed. You will probably notice how much dust and dirt had piled up over the days.

Vacuum and Mop

If you’ve cleaned all surfaces and high touch areas with a disinfectant, now it's time to tackle your floors. Vacuum all corners of the floor until you can’t see any noticeable dust. Then, it's time to mop. This will pick up the dust and dirt that the vacuum didn’t.

If you would like further cleaning, it is recommended that you call a professional disinfection service. For more information you can click here.
