Why baking soda is the ultimate cleaning ingredient
You may have wondered why so many cleaning articles suggest baking soda as the ultimate cleaning ingredient. Baking soda may seem like white powder but has a whole variety of uses, from the kitchen to the bathroom. It might just be the best investment made. We’ll find out some of its benefits just in the kitchen.
Control Odors
Do you ever open your fridge and an unpleasant odor penetrates? This might be due to the various foods overstayed in the fridge that are kept uneaten. Using baking soda can control these odors and give the kitchen a freshened scent. Just fill a cup with baking soda and place it in the corner of your fridge. This will eliminate the smell coming through.
You can also use this measure for different areas in the home prior to cleaning. For example, before vacuuming, you can sprinkle small amounts of baking soda on your carpets. This will allow the odor to leave the area before you can start further cleaning.
Scrub Scrub in the Kitchen
Mixing baking soda with water, makes it an effective cleaner for tough stains. Just apply the mixture onto surfaces and appliances that have leftover residue after cooking. These areas include ovens, microwaves, toasters, sinks, coffee cups and etc.
Pots and Pans
Scorched pots and pans may be the most arduous to wash compared to other tools. However, just by using some baking soda and water, you can remove stains and burned areas. Mix some baking soda with water and apply it to the pots and pans that need cleaning. Then, scrub with a sponge or washcloth.
Fruits and Veggies
Fruits and veggies may store pesticides that are harmful to your health. In order to remove these pesticides you can soak them in a mixture of baking soda and water. Wait 10-15 minutes to eliminate all pesticides.
